Counseling

Middle school counselors play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students. They work with students, teachers, parents, and administrators to create a positive and inclusive school environment. Middle school counselors help students develop academic skills by assisting with individual planning and providing guidance curriculum, responsive services, and system support.  Counselors also offer counseling services, crisis intervention, and guidance on social skills and conflict resolution.

High School Endorsements

In Texas, students must select an endorsement – an area of focus for their high school coursework – before ninth grade. Students are able to choose from five endorsement areas: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Business and Industry, Arts and Humanities, Public Service, or Multidisciplinary Studies.

Endorsements show specialization and accomplishment in certain disciplines and are earned by successfully completing a sequence of courses within the specified category. School counselors work with students to help them select the endorsement that aligns with their interests and goals.
